This afternoon, Year 3 had the privilege of working with local artist Felicity Shillingford, who is leading a wonderful community project celebrating Newton Abbot’s heritage through clay modelling. Our pupils recreated the Victory statue from the town’s war memorial — a landmark unveiled in 1922, replacing a long‑standing oak tree that once stood in its place.
All the clay pieces created by groups across the community will be exhibited in the Museum from mid‑July for a full year. We’re incredibly proud of our pupils’ hard work and can’t wait to see their sculpture displayed alongside the others.
